Scrap n' Dipity Spotlight

Saturday, February 25, 2017
HI Everyone. Today I am sharing my spotlight post over at the Scrap n' Dipity blog. For my card I have used the image - Under the Mistletoe. The digital image comes with a mistletoe wreath around the image as well as one without. I have used the one without the wreath as I wasn't going for a Christmas feel. The ironic thing is the patterned paper I have used is from a Christmas range by Couture Creations - Be Merry and Bright!

Hope you get a chance to get crative this weekend!

Guest Post - A Day for Daisies

Hi Everyone - I am stoked to be a guest DT over at A Day for Daisies blog this month after winning their last challenge. I chose this super cute image - Standing on a Flower - to use. I of course had to use purple which is my favourite colour! She is coloured with copic markers and I have used chalk ink around the outside of the image. Her wings are a little shimmery but as always so hard to capture in a photo. I raided my button stash for this one to randomly place them around the image, and pulled some patterned paper from my stash and topped it all off with the luscious Martha Stewart Seam Binding ribbon.

Copics used:
- Skin - E000, E00, E21, E11
- Hair - E51, E35, E55
- Dress - V01, V12, V15, V17
- Green - YG00, YG25, YG67

I have coloured her with copic markers after picking out the patterned paper I wanted to use so I could match the colours.. The patterned paper is from Pink Paislee - 6x6 pad - Switchboard. I chose to use ribbon and lace on my project and some lovely flowers and buttons. Love how it turned out!

Crafty Creations Challenge #335

Wednesday, February 15, 2017
Hi everyone. Today I am sharing with you my card for the latest challenge over at the Crafty Creations Challenge Blog - we are up to challenge #335 and it is Anything Goes so a great opportunity to share any of your amazing craft work!

This week our sponsor is Fred She Said who are offering at $10 gift card to their store for the winner. Fred She Said Designs offers a wide variety of digital products with a floral flair and cute characters too - Digi's, Pre-coloured images, Papers, Sets, Fred's Flower Kits, and even digital cutting files. Have some fun with Fred!
For my card this week I chose an image called Simple Rose Spray from Fred She Said. I kept the card pretty simple and I hadn't coloured a rose in before but I sought guidance and inspiration from Kit and Clowder - Alyce had a fantastic video showing how to colour roses for her wedding. Even though I was using a different rose image, the techniques from the video were really useful! The free class is called Wedding Surprise - you will need to join the Kit and Clowder community to access it. The sentiment I used was from Hampton Art Layering Clear Stamp Set - Words

Copics used:
- Purple - V12, V15, V17
- Green - YG00, YG91. YG93, YG95, YG97

I hope you get a chance to play along with our challenge this week!

One Day Fae Giveaway!

Tuesday, February 14, 2017
Hi Everyone - make sure that you don't miss out on this month's Faery Ink One Day Fae Giveaway!! You will kick yourself if you do miss out so make sure you sign up to get updates and visit the Faery Ink Blog and Facebook page so you get notification of when this gorgeous image is being given away for free.

The One Day Fae Giveaway arrives soon and lasts through Tuesday. Three Little Birds is the name of our one day fae for February.

I have coloured the image with Copic markers and a little bit of Prisma Colour pencils. You will notice that the image looks really quite soft and that is because I have printed her out with grey lines instead of black. Although you can still see the grey lines they are  not as harsh as the usual black lines which means you have to work a bit harder on your colouring - but I think she looks gorgeous if I do say so myself!

Thanks for looking.

Johnny Jump Ups!

Monday, February 13, 2017
Hi everyone. Just sharing my latest card using the super cute Lacy Sunshine image - Johnny Jump Ups Flower Pot Pretties. Isn't she just so sweet. I really liked they yellow and purple combination and the card just all came together in the end. I love Johnny Jump Ups, they remind me of my childhood - my mum is an amazing gardener and I have very fond memories of all the flowers she would grow - pansies, violets, johnny jump ups and I would collect them and press them and make cards.

She is coloured with Copic markers and then I have teamed her up with some luscious grosgrain yellow ribbon from Papertrey Ink (Harvest Gold) and the patterned paper is also from Papertrey Ink - Text Style 6x6 pad - Bitty Baby Blessings - I don't think it is available anymore as I have had the pad for years!

Copics used:
- Skin - E000, E00, E21, E11
- Hair - Y38, YR24, E99, E29
- Purple - V20, V22, V25, V28, BV08
- Yellow - Y32, Y35, Y38
- Eyes - YG00, YG25, YG67
- Soil - E25, E27, E29

I have entered this card in the following challenges:
- The Ribbon Girl February Card Challenge
- Crafting When we Can Challenge#137 - Flowers
- Crafting with Dragonflies Challenge Blog#74 - One for the Girls
Thanks for looking. Have an amazing day.

Glitter 'n' Sparkle Challenge#225

Sunday, February 5, 2017
Hi Everyone. As I sit here typing I am listening to the rain pour down on our tin roof - taking the humid hot summer Sunday down to a pleasantly cooler one. I love the rain on the tin roof - very calming.

As it is Sunday it is time for a new challenge over at the Glitter 'n' Sparkle Challenge Blog. We are up to challenge # 225 and this week the theme is....
RED and WHITE

Our sponsor this month is Cute as a Button and the lucky winner will get to choose 2 images from the store.

For my card I have used the super cute image - Candy Cane Fairy from Cute as a Button. I printed out the image with grey lines to go for the "no-lines" look. You can still see the outline but it certainly makes a huge difference when you colour with the lighter lines - it looks a lot softer. As always she is coloured with Copic markers and I have used a tiny bit of prismacolor pencils on her lips and dress. I decided to keep the card pretty clean and simple and let the image shine. I teamed the image up with the candy strip patterned paper from Scrapperin - 31 Winterage, and the greeting is from a Simon Says Stamp set - Merry Everything. I have then layered it all up with Kraft cardstock.

Copics Used:
- Skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, R20
- Hair - E43, E44, E47, E49
- Candy Cane - R22, R24, R27, R29, R39, C0, C1, C3
- Green Dress - YG00, YG25, YG67, YG97
- Wings - R11, R22, R24

I have entered this card into the following challenges
I hope you have a great week and get a change to join us in this challenge. Check out all the great inspiration from the Design Team and don't forget to leave some love.

Thanks for looking.

Fab 'n' Funky Challenge#336

Wednesday, February 1, 2017
Hi Everyone. It is that time again for a new challenge over at the Fab 'n' Funky Challenge blogThis week we have a cute challenge which for me was a challenge and our theme this week is..
BIRDS
So your project must have a bird or something bird related such as feathers.

This week our lovely DT Leader Judith is offering the prize which will be a selection of Christmas dies from the Contemporary Christmas range from Crafter's Companion. Who doesn't love dies!!! So for your chance to win make sure you play along this week.

For my card this week I chose a really cute bird image called Happy Birdie - from Jade Dragonne.  Jade Dragonne is a beautiful designer and offers all image for free, so make sure you head over and check out the work, and if you colour something up and share it make sure you let everyone know it was a Jade Dragonne image - share the love.
This image was a challenge for me - although I do a lot of colouring - I mainly colour people, so when you throw an animal and nature into the mix I am a bit hesitant on knowing where to start. This is where Pinterest really helps as I looked for some images of blue birds to get my colour pallate inspriateion.

We  hope you will be able to join us in with our challenge this week. We look forward to visiting your blogs and seeing your gorgeous creations. Please be sure to post a link back to Fab'n'Funky Challenges in your blog post in order to be eligible for this weeks prize! The deadline for entries is Tuesday evening (8). So all that's left is for you to get creative and link up your entry to the linky at the bottom of the page.

Have fun and thanks for looking.
